THE COLO-NESCO SOCCER CLUB BOARD
President: Alexander Curran
Alex has been President of our organization since February 2024. During this short time, he has filed our organization with the IRS, officially making us a 501c3 Non-Profit Club, expanded our seasons to include winter league, participation in tournaments, and expanding our age groups offered. He designed our new logo, merch, and so much more. He makes sure to create a family environment, and recognizes his team’s accomplishments. He submitted JR to Iowa Soccer as head coach of the year! Before Alex took on this role, he started out coaching U6, and has expanded from there!
Vice-President: Michael “JR” VanTassel
JR has been involved with the club before stepping into this role by coaching his son’s team as well as managing the fields. He became Vice-President February 2024. He will tell his his passion is the kids, which is clear to see with how much he is respected in our community! His dedication to the Colo-Nesco Soccer Club shined enough that Alex submitted him for the Iowa Soccer 2024 Boys Rec Soccer Coach of the year, competing against all other coaches in the state, and he won! Since then, he has continued to expand his knowledge of how to teach the game to our kids.
Registrar: Christine Schweinebart
Christine started this role the same time as Alex and JR in February 2024. At that time, the three of them got together and made big plans to get our club on the right track. One large piece of this was a new registration system. Christine worked countless hours with our contact at Iowa Soccer to get us migrated to the new registration that we use today. She plays a pivotal role in our club, often helping in many areas, going above and beyond. She is dedicated to making our soccer family the best it can be!
Treasurer: Darci Judge
Darci joined our soccer family in July 2024. She has a lot of great ideas, and is very organized! Exactly what you would want for someone in her role! With her initiatives, we have had some of the most successful fundraisers to date, allowing us to keep our registration prices low for everyone! She has been a valuable addition to our team!
Secretary: Molly Wernau
Molly is the newest member of our board, joining in March 2025. She stepped up when many others would not. She has a lot of great ideas, and we are looking forward to seeing what great things she does!
